Three runners from WBH were in action at today’s Stafford Half Marathon. Dave Long lead the Harriers home in 21st place. Dave, who completed the course in 1:22:08 said he was “pleased with that, hopefully this is something is the start of some consistent times as we go in to the summer months “.
Next over line was the inform Marathon Man Dominic Ashton with his second faster Half Marathon in a time of 1:34:21 (193rd overall 28th in his age cat). This run was a test of fitness for Dom who has been nursing a niggle during the last few weeks of Marathon Training – now he goes in to next weeks London Marathon with a strong Half Marathon performance and the confidence that he is on form for a impressive marathon.
Beverley Ward has also put her recent run of injuries behind her and completed the undulating course in 1:58:02, this performance placed Bev 7th in her age category a sterling performance and a good marker laid down for the months ahead.
