British Masters Road Relay Championships

On Saturday 28th April the club was back in action over the familiar relay course in Sutton Park. This time under the banner of a Master championships with two full teams in action with the ladies W35s and men’s M45s. For those new to club running this event is under age based categories. Anyone over 35 is classified as “Veteran” or “Master”. All runners in your team must be within the age boundary and you run to the youngest age.

Running a complete ladies team for the first time in recent history were team captain Kate Facey (pictured below) 29:16 , Tara Donnelley 25:09,  Michelle Cresswell 33:03 and Josie Howell  30:15. Finishing in 29th place on the day marked a remarkable achievement for the ladies and puts WBH firmly back on the map as we enter the summer – a good base ready for a cross country season?
