Mid-May Round up

May so far has proven to be a good month for the Maroon Machine with the bank holiday weekend and a return to warmer weather there has been a significant number of performances worth highlighting.

The first weekend in May brought a number of Harriers out to their local parkruns with Gary Clifton returning to a Parkrun with a 21:45 at Perry Hall and Russell Collins sneaking under the 20minute mark at Cassiobury Parkrun – the well travelled harrier is surley making these races up! Also further afield distant member Jacob Marklew ran an impressive 19:44 at Abingdon.

At the Birmingham 10k on 6th May there were four Harriers in action – Karl Moore lead the team with a time of 42:11, a good strong performance from Karl who is seeking a return to his previous form and searching for that sub 40. “Blind” Dave guided by Tony Ellis ran 53:30, closely followed by Beverly Ward in 55:37 and Michelle Cresswell in 1:13.

The amount of Harriers running weekly at Parkrun makes it almost impossible to keep on top of on this site but a significant shout should go to Russell Collins who this weekend (12th May) ran a 20 second PB for 5k at Walsall in a time of 19:38.

Well done to all – keep up the training – hard work is paying off!
