A massive congratulations to john Buckby who attchevied a mind boggling 300 park runs last Saturday on his 83rd birthday!
John decided to celebrate away from his home PR at Walsall Arboretum and join us at Edgbaston where we were taking over for the day volunteering, running and recruiting, and it was great to have him with us representing the club. He’s truly inspiration to all of us!
Graham is one of the race directors at Edgbaston and asked us if we would like to volunteer for the day and at the same time promote the club, and of course we said yes, without the volunteers who turn up in all weather conditions, Park Runs just wouldn’t happen, so thank you all for giving up part of your Saturday mornings.
The course is 2 flat laps around Edgbaston reservoir where many people will remember the famous Tower Ball room, now demolished. It’s a fast course with no real tight turns but there is a cross wind from the sailing club where you lose the cover from the trees. Thanks to all our volunteers who marshalled.
Check out Tom’s YouTube of the day.
